Logix Bulk Builder
Template → Excel → repeatable L5X routinesAllen-Bradley Studio 5000 productivity tools
Build new Logix projects faster. Modernize converted ones safely.
Corevanta turns repetitive Studio 5000 work into structured, reviewable L5X workflows—from generating standardized routines to replacing converted PLC-5 addresses with descriptive tags.
- L5X workflows
- Ladder + function block
- PlantPAx + custom AOIs
- PLC-5 conversions
AB Legacy Tag Updater
I[10].2 → Rack10:3:I.Data.0Choose the workflow that matches the project
Two tools. Two different sources of repetitive Logix work.
Use Bulk Builder when one proven routine needs to become many consistent instances. Use Legacy Tag Updater when converted PLC-5 addresses need to become maintainable Studio 5000 tags across multiple routines.
Logix Bulk Builder
Create repeatable ladder and function block routines from a validated L5X template. Configure tag mappings, descriptions, optional logic, custom AOIs, and PlantPAx values directly or through Excel.
- RLL and FBD routine generation
- Custom AOI and PlantPAx configuration
- Excel collaboration and bulk editing
I[10].2Rack10:3:I.Data.0ReadyB3[0].5FlushLatch1ReadyT4[2]MotorSealInDelayReadyN10[15].1HMI_MotorFeedback1ReadyAB Legacy Tag Updater
Analyze converted PLC-5 references across one or more L5X routines, remap legacy I/O to current Logix module addresses, replace internal references with descriptive tags, and generate an ordered import package.
- I, O, B, T, C, N, and F data files
- Multiple routines from one controller
- Existing descriptions preserved and editable
- Controller-tag conflict and data-type checks
- Required I/O remapping to Logix module addresses
Logix Bulk Builder
Start with logic you already trust.
Corevanta builds from your own Studio 5000 routine, so the generated instances keep the structure and standards your team has already established.
Create the template
Build and validate one representative routine in Studio 5000 using the tags, instructions, AOIs, and descriptions your project requires.
Export the routine
Export the ladder or function block routine as an L5X file. Corevanta analyzes its logic, tag references, and configurable values.
Build and edit instances
Create the required routines, remap I/O and existing tags, include optional logic, and edit parameters directly or through Excel.
Generate and import
Generate the new L5X package and import it into Studio 5000 for review, validation, and commissioning.
Reusable project data
Instance names, tag mappings, descriptions, and parameters become structured fields.
- Edit in the application
- Export a purpose-built Excel workbook
- Distribute configuration work across team members
- Reimport and generate consistent routines
Built for real Logix projects
Bulk generation that understands more than tag names.
Use the same workflow for straightforward motor routines, multi-rung templates, function block sheets, and parameter-heavy AOI applications.
Ladder and function block workflows
Generate separate routines or organize repeated instances together. Preserve routine logic while changing the project-specific operands around it.
Expose the values that drive each instance
Review and edit stored PlantPAx Cfg_ values alongside wired source mappings, including ranges, alarm behavior, timing, and other instance configuration.
Work with your own instruction library
Corevanta discovers custom AOI blocks and exposes writable, unwired input values for each generated instance while leaving outputs and internally written values protected.
Fit one template to different field devices
Include or exclude optional contacts and generated tags for instance-specific permissives, interlocks, and other variations without rebuilding the routine.
Keep names and descriptions intentional
Control generated routine names, tag names, scopes, data types, operands, and descriptions before the L5X ever reaches the controller project.
A better handoff than copy-and-paste
Turn repetitive programming into a reviewable team workflow.
Export the analyzed template to Excel, divide configuration work by area or equipment group, then bring the completed data back into one generation process.
- Standardize repeated routines around a common design
- Let engineers review project data without opening every rung or sheet
- Reduce manual rename and find-and-replace work
- Make late project-wide edits from a structured workbook
AB Legacy Tag Updater
Replace converted PLC-5 addresses without chasing references routine by routine.
Select one or more L5X routine exports from the same controller. The application finds converted legacy operands, combines their references into a reviewable mapping, and applies approved tags and current module-defined I/O addresses consistently across every selected routine.

Practical details
Designed to fit the Studio 5000 workflow.
Does Bulk Builder modify my ACD project directly?
No. It works with exported L5X routines and generates L5X output for you to import and review in Studio 5000.
Which tool should I use?
Use Logix Bulk Builder to create many consistent routines from one validated template. Use AB Legacy Tag Updater to replace converted PLC-5 operands with descriptive Studio 5000 tags across existing routines.
Does Legacy Tag Updater change my original L5X exports?
No. It analyzes the selected exports and writes new, ordered L5X output files. You review and import those files into Studio 5000.
Does it support PlantPAx and custom AOIs?
Yes. It can expose stored PlantPAx configuration values and writable, unwired custom AOI inputs. The required AOI definitions must already exist in the destination project.
Can multiple people work on the configuration?
Yes. The Excel workflow makes the generated instances, mappings, descriptions, and configurable values easier to divide, review, and consolidate.
Is the commercial license a subscription?
No. The $995 USD commercial license is a one-time purchase for perpetual use on one computer. Contact sales for team or site licensing.
What happens when the trial ends?
You can still open the application and analyze templates, but Excel import/export and L5X generation require an active commercial license.
